Research Buddy is a Chrome extension, so it has no website by default. It is deployed on GitHub — download it from here and load it into Chrome.

Features

Highlight anything

Select text on any page and it is instantly highlighted in yellow.

Auto-save

Every highlight is saved with its source URL, page title and time, and restored when you revisit.

Popup view

See the highlights for the current page, jump to one, or delete it with a click.

One-click export

Download all your highlights as a Markdown (.md) or plain text (.txt) file.

How to install

  1. Download the ZIP above and extract it.
  2. Open chrome://extensions in Chrome.
  3. Turn on Developer mode (top right).
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the extracted folder.
  5. Select some text on any webpage and click the Research Buddy icon.
